Man-of-the-match Inzamam-ul-Haq led the Hyderabad Heroes to a 33-run win over Brian Lara’s Mumbai Champs in the Indian Cricket League on Saturday in Panchkula, near Chandigarh.
Captain Inzy first inspired his team with an innings of 42 not out from just 28 balls – with three fours and two sixes - in the Twenty20 format as they made 121-6 on the second day of the inaugural tournament.
The Champs were then dismissed for just 88 and crucially the highest-scoring batsman in Test history Lara was lbw to Pakistani seamer Azhar Mahmood for a first ball duck. His side failed to recover from his loss, after England batsman Vikram Solanki laboured for 20 balls for his five runs. Nathan Astle top-scored with 31.
Pakistan retired from Test cricket in October after a farewell Test against South Africa in Lahore.
