Inzamam set for his Yorkshire debut

Inzamam-ul-Haq will make his Yorkshire debut against Warwickshire on Wednesday in the County Championship at Scarborough, as Younis Khan departs for national duty.

Younis plays his last match for Yorkshire at Cardiff against Glamorgan in the NatWest Pro-40 on Monday before flying off on Wednesday to prepare for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa.

Inzamam arrived from Lahore on Saturday and will go straight into the team for the important four-day championship clash.

Inzamam will not only be heloing the Tykes push for the Championship title but he will also be trying to aid his own cause for a place in the Pakistan team to face South Africa in the Test series in October.

He retired from the captaincy and one-day internationals in March but his desperate to reach 10,000 Test runs. He requires 20 more to pass Javed Miandad’s tally to bcome the highest-scoring Pakistan Test batsman.
